Glass Pitcher with Silverplate / Albert Pick Co. / Art Deco Server
This elegant Art Deco glass pitcher sits in a one-piece silverplate handle with hinged lid and base. From the Albert Pick Company, for the Hotel Racine in Racine, Wisconsin, this piece carries marvelous history and is highly collectible. The pitcher was made for the Hotel Racine, in Wisconsin, and in operation from 1894 - 1935. During its 1920s hay day, the hotel was known for its attraction to celebrities and mob bosses.
This is a postcard west side image of Hotel Racine, dated 1913.
The glass shows an area approximately 1 1/2" in diameter with visible rubbing. The silver-plated handle, bottom, band and hinged top show some wear, as you can see from the photos. When closed, the lid is ever so slightly off center. I have not attempted to polish, as some prefer the aged look. This piece would be gorgeous in so many settings and uses. Please see my photos and ask questions. I am happy to provide additional pics.
The pitcher stands 9 1/2" to top of rim and 11 1/4" to top of lid. Holds 34 oz to bottom of band.
