Collector's Library of the Civil War, Time Life Series, 27 Volume Set, American Civil War Books
This 1980s 27-volume set of the Collector's Library of the Civil War, Time-Life Series has front covers with an embossed scene of marching soldiers carrying guns with officers on horses. Gilt lettering and gilt pages edges set these volumes off beautifully, as do the illustrated end papers. A red bookmark is attached to each book, adding a lovely detail. Black and white illustrations abound to help tell the stories of the Civil War. Most inclued the Ex Libris card, as shown in the photo, as well as a note from Time-Life, describing the originator of the series, Warren Lee Goss and his imprisonment in Andersonville and resultant incursions into writing his story.
This collection has been penned by various authors from the time period and is filled with stories and beautiful printings of first-hand war scene drawings.
This would make a lovely graduation gift for the history major, graduate student, or practicing historian. As an instant historical collection, these volumes would sit nicely in a den, study, or teaching office.
The books will ship via Media Mail, unless otherwise specified. Please choose Media Mail when checking out.
