Christus Victor: A Student's Reverie, Henry Nehemiah Dodge, Antiquarian Poetry Book
Christus Victor: A Student's Reverie by Henry Nehemiah Dodge is an extended poem in iambic pentameter, in which the author explores and contemplates the victory of Christ over evil. He implores the Saviour to accept his poem as a gift for the "unutterable joy of divine harmony that has stirred his soul."
The antiquarian book of poetry is a 1905 reprint of Dodge's work, published by Putnam's and The Knickerbocker Press, NY. Bound in red leather with gilt top edges, lettering on the spine, this copy shows an alpha and omega sign on the front and back.
As the photos show the volume shows some partial page separation, but the spine is intact, with the original gross grain ribbon present but separated. The back has a damaged spot, as shown.
Measures 6" x 4.5" x 5/8", deckled pages, several blank fly pages at the front and back, 206 pages, and an Index of First Lines.
