Art Deco Poem by Bert Bailey "Mother Dear" Poem with 1920s Illustration Carved Wood Frame Gibson Product
This little Art Deco poem by Bert Bailey is entitled, "Mother Dear," and is set is a sweet carved frame. The pink, turquoise, blue and yellow colors are bold and bright. The carved wood frame is a work of art in itself, with scroll work in Royal Blue, a lighter blue highlight and gilt inner and outer boarders. The "Mother Dear" poem by Bailey is reminiscent of the sentimental aspect of the period. From the Gibson Co., of the Gibson Girl fame, this sweet vintage piece of wall art is a delightful piece to display in almost any decor theme.
this piece is special because of the inscription on the back. Written in 1932, the Mother's Day gift was evidently from, Mary, a daughter who could not write. Someone wrote this for her, and Mary signed her "X." I find this especially endearing and important to its place in history.
